Diego Serrano Artist: the system, tested in my own studio

My own studio, the first case.

I apply to my practice as a painter exactly what I propose to other artists: positioning, pricing, archive, digital presence and AI-supported processes.

The project

Diego Serrano Artist is my practice as a contemporary figurative painter. After more than two decades in design, technology and entrepreneurship, I returned to painting with work centred on the human face as a vehicle for memory and identity. Since 2023 I've exhibited in Barcelona (MEAM), New York (Atlantica Gallery), Madrid (Espacio Jovellanos and the Museo de la Ciudad de Móstoles), Zaragoza (Galería Artelibre) and London (Soho Gallery), and I was a ModPortrait 2024 finalist.

The challenge

Many artists handle their presence with a static website and a handful of disconnected social profiles, with no pricing criteria or organised archive behind them. I needed to solve this for my own practice, and in a way that could serve as a model for other artists.

My role — strategy and execution

  • I defined my positioning and my narrative as an artist —including the “Tronies” series, portraits in dialogue with figures from Greek mythology— and the digital presence that supports them.
  • I structured the website as a genuine catalogue, with work available to collectors and a downloadable press kit for the media and galleries, not just as a portfolio.
  • I applied AI to communication and to the archive: organising content, writing copy and setting up processes that let me keep a steady presence without a team.

The result

This case is the proof of concept for what I propose to other artists: a studio that's organised on the inside and coherent on the outside, leaving more time to paint.
